A more entertaining effort from this Brazil side compared to their previous two matches. The play is definitely practical and often times slow but intentional nonetheless. Maicon is having a large say of the proceedings in his flying right back role. His play has brought out Robinho also on the right side. He nearly scored with an effort that clanged off the post. Maicon has made several good runs forward and seems to be keeping his man in check thus far. With that said the goal came from the left with A.Santos swinging it into the flying Pato header. It was a clinical finish and well taken. Ganso still having little to no significant impact yet and that’s distressing to see. The uncharacteristic mistakes at the back continue though and Ecuador’s goal really has to come down to a mistake by J. Cesar. What’s troubling is Brazil inability to gain any kind of superiority over this supposedly lesser team. I do have to say the team is playing relatively better and more cohesively than their last game which is good to see.
